1. Keep your pet leashed and be mindful of what snakes might be in your area and where they like to hide, including areas with tall grasses, under rock piles or other debris and near water.
2. If left untreated, seasonal allergies can exacerbate conditions like asthma. Talk to your veterinarian if you notice excessive itching, skin irritation, difficulty breathing, wheezing or coughing.
3. Exercise during the cooler morning and evening hours, and make sure your pet always has access to fresh water and a cool place to rest.
